My work is rooted in an intuitive, slightly feral way of looking at the world, drawn to moments that invite closer attention. Through printmaking, I use observation and imagination to understand and connect with my surroundings.
From spring through fall, I encounter box turtles almost daily, two of them even eat breakfast alongside my cats in the carport. I have grown attached to their slow, steady presence as they move through the world in ways I do not fully understand.
The plants in this work, lanceleaf coreopsis, ferns, mushrooms, and creeping oxeye, come from my neighborhood walks. They are familiar, sometimes overlooked, and bring me joy.
In this work, I think about stardust as something close at hand, present in soil and living things, where the sky above and the ground below begin to mirror one another.
Each print is hand printed using oil-based ink from a linoleum block that I carved by hand. Because of this process, no two prints are exactly alike. You may receive a slightly different impression of the same image, printed from the same block using the same ink and paper.
