Cottonmouth Snake Block Print
from $44.00

The cottonmouth, or water moccasin, is one of the few venomous snakes native to south Mississippi. With its Zorro-like mask and Hershey Kiss-patterned markings, it’s both feared and misunderstood. These snakes are often the subject of southern folklore, but the truth is—they’re not out to get you. They are beautiful, vital parts of the ecosystem, just living their lives.

I carved this linocut to honor the cottonmouth’s striking form and ecological importance. It’s a reminder that even misunderstood creatures deserve appreciation and respect.

Each print is hand-pulled using oil-based ink and a linoleum block I carved myself. Due to the handmade nature of this process, every print has unique variations. You will receive one from this limited edition, made using the same block, ink, and recycled French Paper Company paper.

  • Image size: 8" x 10"

  • Paper size: 9" x 12"

Pot Head
from $135.00

A celebration of good food, good tools, and letting ideas run a little wild.

Pot Head began with a simple idea, a few cooking pots stacked into a headdress. Then the spoons became a beard, the knives became a mustache, mushrooms found their way into the ears, and somewhere along the way a carrot grew a butt.

This print is my love letter to the spirit of cooking. It's about the humble ingredients that become extraordinary meals, the well-loved wooden spoons, heavy pots, herbs from the garden, and the joy of creating something nourishing from simple things. It also celebrates abundance, because sometimes the best ideas come from adding just one more delightful detail.

Hand carved from linoleum and printed by hand in my Mississippi Gulf Coast studio.

Details:

  • Image size: 12×18 inches

  • Paper size: 16×22 inches

  • Matted: 18×24

  • Framed:18×24

  • Hand-printed linoleum block print

Limited Edition of 150

Because every print is pulled by hand, slight variations are part of the process and make each impression uniquely its own.

Where the Slow Ones Walk
from $135.00

My work is rooted in an intuitive, slightly feral way of looking at the world, drawn to moments that invite closer attention. Through printmaking, I use observation and imagination to understand and connect with my surroundings.

From spring through fall, I encounter box turtles almost daily, two of them even eat breakfast alongside my cats in the carport. I have grown attached to their slow, steady presence as they move through the world in ways I do not fully understand.

The plants in this work, lanceleaf coreopsis, ferns, mushrooms, and creeping oxeye, come from my neighborhood walks. They are familiar, sometimes overlooked, and bring me joy.

In this work, I think about stardust as something close at hand, present in soil and living things, where the sky above and the ground below begin to mirror one another.

Each print is hand printed using oil-based ink from a linoleum block that I carved by hand. Because of this process, no two prints are exactly alike. You may receive a slightly different impression of the same image, printed from the same block using the same ink and paper.

Details:

  • Image size: 12×18 inches

  • Paper size: 16×22 inches

  • Matted: 18×24

  • Framed:18×24

  • Hand-printed linoleum block print

Limited Edition of 150

Jessie Zenor makes hand-carved, hand-printed art celebrating nature, food, home and adventure.

Feral South is the studio practice of Jessie Zenor, a block printmaker working on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

This work is rooted in slow making, close looking, and instinct-led process. Each piece is hand-carved and printed, shaped by repetition, attention, and time. The subjects often come from everyday rituals, regional landscapes, food, flora and fauna…things that reveal themselves more fully when we slow down long enough to notice.

Feral South is an ongoing exploration of making as a way of being: rooted, observant, and alive to the details that hold a place together.
